Task: A Conversation about Summer Vacation
1. Read the sample conversation using flashcards to represent speakers. (2-3 times)
2. Ask students to share as much as they can about the conversationﾕs content.
3. Read conversation line by line with class using handout for reference.
4. Adjective review, past tense worksheet
5. Students practice reading the conversation in pairs.
6. Students create 5 questions to find out what their partner did over summer vacation.
7. Oral practice using their questions to discuss the summer with their partners. Brief check, ask some pairs to report what they learned in Japanese to the class.
8. Describe dialogue task to students with handout. Include information on how their performance will be assessed with Rubric.
