The ATJ 2002 Seminar took place at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington DC, on Thursday, April 4, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Seminar featured a full day of concurrent sessions with presentations by ATJ members on linguistics, pedagogy, second-language acquisition, and literature. The 2002 Seminar was dedicated to the memory of Professor Akira Komai (1931-2001), a past president of ATJ and pioneer in Japanese language education in the United States.
Sessions were held concurrently beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Delaware and Maryland Suite conference rooms. Admission was free for members of ATJ and our sister organization the National Council of Japanese Language Teachers (NCJLT). There was a registration fee of $35 for non-members.
Information on hotel accommodations can be found at the web site of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS), http://www.aasianst.org, whose conference is held at the same venue beginning April 4.
